Alvin Campaña is a Toronto-based editor and director. Alvin's editing work can be seen the Lifetime thrillers 'House Of Deadly Lies' and 'Maid For Revenge', as well as the Hallmark Channel romantic comedies 'Melt My Heart This Christmas', 'Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia's Reunion', and 'Unwrapping Christmas: Lily's Destiny'. Other scripted credits include the CBC Gem series 'Ming's Dynasty', along with the Marseille Web Fest Award winning 'For The Record', which earned Alvin a Canadian Cinema Editors Award nomination for Best Editing In Web Series. Most recently, Alvin garnered his second Canadian Cinema Editors Award nomination for the 2024 Hallmark rom-com 'Romance With A Twist'.
In 2009, Alvin won a Gemini Award for his editing on the acclaimed documentary-style travelogue ‘Departures’, and has gone on to edit for a number of documentary adventure/travel series. He also received two Canadian Screen Award nominations, recognizing his editing work on both documentary series' 'Descending’ (2013) and 'Boundless' (2015). As director, Alvin premiered his effects laden short film ‘Lullaby for Lucious & Sumat’ in 2013, at Cinequest, the Academy Award qualifying film festival in San Jose, California. His time in the Philippines saw him direct three television specials with acclaimed magician & mentalist Erik Mana ('Stranger', 2004; ‘Mastermind’, 2005; ‘Believe’, 2011). In his hometown of Mississauga, Ontario, Alvin was awarded the 2003 Mississauga Arts Award for Best Emerging Media Artist. Ten years later, he received the 2013 Marty for Best Established Media Artist. Alvin's work is also featured in the acclaimed Amazon Prime docu-series 'Ted Bundy: Falling For A Killer', for which the editing team garnered a British Film Editors Cut Above Award nomination for Best Edited Series or Miniseries: Documentary/Non-Fiction. Other credits include the Netflix science & health series 'A User's Guide To Cheating Death' with Timothy Caulfield, as well as the adventure lifestyle show '50 Ways To Kill Your Mum' featuring Schitt's Creek's Annie Murphy, supermodel Coco Rocha, and NHL All-Star John Scott.
